Kathia Serrano-Velarde

Kathia Serrano-Velarde is an assistant professor for Sociology at Heidelberg University. Her research focuses on the transformation of the education and research sector in Europe. Kathia wrote her PhD at the Humboldt University in Berlin on the emergence of a market for quality assurance agencies in higher education.

From 2007 to 2008, she worked as post-doctoral fellow at Sciences Po Paris before joining the Centre for Social Investment (CSI) at Heidelberg University. Her current research project deals with the changing nature of academic grant writing practices.
